Youtube Made me Buy it

YouTube Made Me Buy It!

Have you ever gotten lost in the world of Youtube and at the end felt like “damn I need to buy THIS palette!”?? Today I will tell you about 3 palettes I bought because of youtube. Some I love some I “hate” or . . . well dislike!

We will start with TooFaced’s Chocolate Bar. I bought this palette because EVERYONE raved about it. It was the palette to own.

I justified getting it because it had neutrals and color. Mattes and shimmers. Overall it’s an ok palette. A few things I like about it is the color selection. It has good variation for a neutral look or even a glammed look. Also, some of the colors are very pigmented. Some stuff I didn’t like. . .

As you can see one of the shadows popped out. It isn’t magnetic so every time I travel or open it the pan falls out. The packaging isn’t my favorite either. While it’s very beautiful and cute the magnets giving out and if I’m not careful the pan falls on the floor. Hence the cracked product.

Up next is the Chocolate bars cousin. The Chocolate BonBon palette.

The problem I have with this palette is that I hardly reach for it. It’s almost like it’s just there to be pretty. Like its cousin some of the colors are hit or miss with the pigmentation. It features beautiful colors that I thought would take me out of my “neutral” comfort zone but I have yet to do a colorful look with it.

I do however love the transition shades in this palette and Satin Sheets as a highlight. Sadly the packaging is adorable but magnetic and flimsy feeling like the Chocolate bar.

Another palette Youtube made me buy is Urban Decays Naked2. This is a staple for every beginner makeup enthusiast. DSC_0367

This is another palette I haven’t used in such a long time. Perhaps it’s because its been put away or maybe because I’m not drawn to the shades. It’s mostly shimmer and back when I first started my makeup journey I didn’t know I wouldn’t “love” shimmers.

Maybe its the fall out I’m not attracted to or the fact to ME shimmers get a bit muddy. Or they lose the actual shimmer to them. I love the shock pigments/shadows from Colourpop and when I want a glittery look I turn to them.

All of these palettes cost a pretty penny. If you’re a collector and don’t care about some the cons then these aren’t so bad. But if you are looking for some cheap alternatives there are some great choices out there. They’re beautiful palettes all 3 of them. With some pro’s and some con’s. I don’t regret ANY of them.

Is there anything Youtube made you buy? Anything you regret?

Brushes, Monday Favorites, Uncategorized

Monday faves, it’s BRUSHES!

As the title says today’s Monday Faves will be brushes. I will tell you all about my favorite eye brushes. My brush obsession knows no limits!! From eye brushes, to face, even body brushes, I have them all! We did a little belated mothers day shopping and I almost got brushes. KEYWORD: almost, LOL! (I’m going to apologize in advance for not using my Nikon for this post.)

MORPHE

For setting my eye primer or eye concealer I like using a mini angled buffer by Morphe from the 690 – 6 PIECE DELUXE CONTOUR SET. I got this set from Hautelook for 50% off so it was a steal. The bristles are very soft on the lids. I don’t know how it would blend but just for setting it does amazing.

LUXIESONIAKASHUK

I have several brushes I like for my crease. My ultimate favorite ‘I freak out’ when I lose it is the #109 By Sonia Kashuk. At $5.99 it’s a great brush. Blends seamlessly, is very soft on the lids, and has minimal shedding. Another crease favorite is Luxie’s #205 Tapered Blending Brush. I used to like this brush for my outer corner until I started using it’s sister brush. So one day when my Sonia Kashuk was dirty I picked up this 205 and have never looked back. It’s become one of my must haves, love it forever, “holy grail” blending brush.

UDSIGMA

Ok, so I’m going to be completely honest with you guys; I look up everything I post. I don’t like giving you guys the wrong info. Sooooo in doing just that I found out Urban Decay actually sells the palette brushes individually. HOW DID I NOT KNOW?!? Lol, anyway, I love this brush from my Naked 2 palette to pack on shadow on the lid. If thats dirty my Sigma E55 from the Color Pop Collection does amazing.

ELFBRUSH

I enjoy little gems in the rough and this e.l.f. crease brush is just that. At only a $1 I think a lot of people look past it. I don’t use it as the name suggests but that’s the beauty of makeup, anything goes. I use this inexpensive brush to pack on color in my outer corner. I then blend that out with another brush. Works amazing! The bristles are a bit stiff that’s why I personally don’t use it for the crease but thats just MY opinion.

LUXIE BRUSHES

I like smoking out my bottom lashes with Luxie’s #221 Flat Definer and #231 Small Tapered Blending brush. All these Luxie eye brushes came in a set together I purchased through Ipsy for $25! Winning!

DETAIL SHADOW BRUSH

Last but not least is this cute, random, black brush I like for applying inner corner highlight. This brush came from the very first set of brushes I ever purchased and I cannot remember the name of it. If I had to compare it to another brush I’d say it performs just like Real Techniques accent brush: designed for precision detailing, spotlighting, highlighting, and smudging from the Starter Set .

I cannot have enough brushes and there’s a few sets out there that I have my eyes on. I try to find brushes that are vegan. Sadly sometimes I don’t do my research and I have purchased brushes that are from ‘animal hair’.

What are some of your favorite eye brushes? Any you recommend? Also, would anyone like to see my little Mother’s day haul? lol

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!
