Monday faves, it’s BRUSHES!

Monday faves, it’s BRUSHES!

As the title says today’s Monday Faves will be brushes. I will tell you all about my favorite eye brushes. My brush obsession knows no limits!! From eye brushes, to face, even body brushes, I have them all! We did a little belated mothers day shopping and I almost got brushes. KEYWORD: almost, LOL! (I’m going to apologize in advance for not using my Nikon for this post.)

MORPHE

For setting my eye primer or eye concealer I like using a mini angled buffer by Morphe from the 690 – 6 PIECE DELUXE CONTOUR SET. I got this set from Hautelook for 50% off so it was a steal. The bristles are very soft on the lids. I don’t know how it would blend but just for setting it does amazing.

LUXIESONIAKASHUK

I have several brushes I like for my crease. My ultimate favorite ‘I freak out’ when I lose it is the #109 By Sonia Kashuk. At $5.99 it’s a great brush. Blends seamlessly, is very soft on the lids, and has minimal shedding. Another crease favorite is Luxie’s #205 Tapered Blending Brush. I used to like this brush for my outer corner until I started using it’s sister brush. So one day when my Sonia Kashuk was dirty I picked up this 205 and have never looked back. It’s become one of my must haves, love it forever, “holy grail” blending brush.

UDSIGMA

Ok, so I’m going to be completely honest with you guys; I look up everything I post. I don’t like giving you guys the wrong info. Sooooo in doing just that I found out Urban Decay actually sells the palette brushes individually. HOW DID I NOT KNOW?!? Lol, anyway, I love this brush from my Naked 2 palette to pack on shadow on the lid. If thats dirty my Sigma E55 from the Color Pop Collection does amazing.

ELFBRUSH

I enjoy little gems in the rough and this e.l.f. crease brush is just that. At only a $1 I think a lot of people look past it. I don’t use it as the name suggests but that’s the beauty of makeup, anything goes. I use this inexpensive brush to pack on color in my outer corner. I then blend that out with another brush. Works amazing! The bristles are a bit stiff that’s why I personally don’t use it for the crease but thats just MY opinion.

LUXIE BRUSHES

I like smoking out my bottom lashes with Luxie’s #221 Flat Definer and #231 Small Tapered Blending brush. All these Luxie eye brushes came in a set together I purchased through Ipsy for $25! Winning!

DETAIL SHADOW BRUSH

Last but not least is this cute, random, black brush I like for applying inner corner highlight. This brush came from the very first set of brushes I ever purchased and I cannot remember the name of it. If I had to compare it to another brush I’d say it performs just like Real Techniques accent brush: designed for precision detailing, spotlighting, highlighting, and smudging from the Starter Set .

I cannot have enough brushes and there’s a few sets out there that I have my eyes on. I try to find brushes that are vegan. Sadly sometimes I don’t do my research and I have purchased brushes that are from ‘animal hair’.

What are some of your favorite eye brushes? Any you recommend? Also, would anyone like to see my little Mother’s day haul? lol

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!

Love to Hate, Hate to Love

Love to Hate, Hate to Love

IMG_2381

I want to apologize in advance for skipping Fridays/Weekends #MOTD and Mondays Fave so today to make it up I’m going to show you a few things. Lets start with my Monday Faves.

As I mentioned I was on a hunt for the Milani 2 in 1 foundation. I have tried many many drug store foundations and have had absolutely BAD luck with all of them. I usually get oily through the day but I also have dry patches. I don’t know whats the deal with that. When I try a new foundation I do some things before giving up on it. I try different moisturizers with it, different primers, and different concealers. By far this foundation has held up. I can already tell it will become a staple in my collection. If I had to compare to another foundation I’d say it reminds me a lot of my ‘holy grail’ the Estee Lauder Double wear foundation. The coverage is AMAZING one layer is good with spot checking but it can easily be built to more of a full coverage. It matched me so well too, which is something I struggle with in other foundations. It applied well with both a foundation brush and the beauty blender. On Saturday I wore it all night and it held up so well. As you can see even after some dancing and sweating there’s minimal oil, there was no patching, and hardly any creasing. Some of the other foundations I tried settled into my fine lines making me looked aged, I don’t know how else to describe it! (Now keep in mind I set all my foundations the same exact way.)IMG_2349

IMG_2385IMG_2380

Now I’m going to complain, hence my title. Today I wanted to try something I received in my April Ipsy Glam bag. I was so excited because the shade of the cream shadow by Starlooks is absolutely beautiful. But, ugh, I hate to do this but I hate the consistency. It was so hard to apply and it set so weird on the lid. I tried to redeem the look by going over it with an actual eyeshadow and it didn’t help. Which is such a bummer because the color is absolutely beautiful. IMG_2377

Here you can see how weird it looks. I primed my lids like usual so maybe that was the mistake? Anyone else having trouble with this product? Any suggestions? On the lips I am wearing two new products from this post.

Let me know if you try this foundation and your t

Ipsy is my Monday fave!

Ipsy is my Monday fave!

I finally got my ipsy bag! It mailed to our old address so the hubby had to get it for me. This month’s theme was “dreamers” and the bag itself is so cute! I think definitely one of my favorite!

A lot of people ask me if I think it’s worth signing up for ipsy and personally I enjoy it. For many many reasons. 1. At least one product pays for the monthly fee of $10. 2. I get to try new products without spending a whole lot of $$$. 3. I secretly enjoy having something to look forward to in the mail! (LOL!!)

Like my best friend said “Ipsy knows you!” So of course I was super excited for a new brush. I’ve never purchased any Crown brushes but I have purchased a cream contour kit from them and enjoyed it very much! This is the C427 Duo Fiber Blush Brush. This brush retails for about $10 on their website. I like these type of brushes to stipple in my concealer and to apply blush and highlights.

As you can see I was having a hard time capturing the true color of this eyeliner. This pencil is by Skinn Cosmetics and this is the Bright eyes Eye enhancing Eyeliner. If like me you’re a bit more on the tanned side than you’ll notice using a white liner in the water line may look kind of odd. For a long time I’ve been searching for a different shade that isn’t white and had settled for a gold so I am soooo happy I received this specific color liner. This eyeliner retails for $18 so I mean COME ON! Two products already payed for the $10 fee.

Next up is this cream eyeshadow by Starlooks in Rose Gold. I haven’t tried this shadow but I am so stoked. Golds make my eyes look a bit lighter so I love these type of shades. I did swatch it and it goes on so smooth and bright.
I don’t think I have ever tried a Tarte lip product so I was excited for this. As soon as I saw the shade I knew it was something I can carry around in my purse for pops of color whenever I need it. This is their LipSurgence™ lip crème in Wonder. As we all know Tarte is cruelty free, yay!
STYLIST TIP:

Perfect your pout! Swipe once for a sheer wash of color, or build for more intensity.
P.S. It also doubles as a cheek color! Apply to the apples of cheeks and blend for a radiant flush of color. (From the Ipsy Website).

I’ve never been big on hair products I don’t know why, just never have. So I wasn’t super excited for this product Moroccanoil Moroccanoil treatment. However I have found some hair products I genuinely like through Ipsy so I’ll give it a shot.

Shine on! It’s the original – and best – argan oil treatment that’s won countless awards for its insane hair-perfecting power. Just one use transforms lackluster locks into the super shiny strands of your dreams. It’s also a magical multitasker – the all-in-one product works overtime to condition, style and finish your hair. (From the Ipsy website).

Overall, like always I am pleased with my monthly Ipsy bag. In the past there’s been some fails but I’m glad I waited it out. If you’re interested in an Ipsy subscription in this post I describe what it’s like and how it works.

Were you pleased with this month’s bag?!

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!-Prissy💖

NYX Liquid Lipsticks

NYX Liquid Lipsticks

If like me you jumped on the NYX band wagon then you’re no stranger to their Soft Matte Lip CreamIt was one of the first ‘liquid lipsticks’ that were soooo hyped up. So of course I had to try them out. I have a love/hate thing going on with these.

DSC_0275
This is San Paulo

Pro’s:

  • They smell amazing
  • Good color pay off (some colors)
  • They don’t transfer
  • Long lasting

Cons:

  • The applicator is crap! I usually have to use a small lip brush to even it out
  • They can be a bit drying
  • Some colors do need multiple applications (the darker colors)

When the Liquid Suede Cream released I was hesitant because of the issues with the matte lip creams. I didn’t even try to hype myself up for them although they have some gorgeous colors. BUT then Ipsy sent it out in their March Glam Bag and I was excited. I don’t mind FREE.99 because if I hate the product theres no loss.

DSC_0270
This is Kitten Heels

Pro’s:

  • The applicator is amazing
  • These aren’t so drying although they do dry to a matte finish
  • The formula is long lasting and even after I wiped it off for dinner there was a bit of a tint
  • I only have the shade Kitten Heels but one swipe of the wand and the color was vibrant and applied evenly

Con’s:

  • They transfer even after it dries
  • They smell horrible

NYX LIQUID LIPSTICKS

Here’s my mini NYX liquid lips collection. It’s not much but for myself I need to find formulas that aren’t very drying. I’ve always had sensitive lips. Mac’s matte lipsticks work well for me so do the Milani matte lipsticks. I won’t deny that there’s several liquid lipsticks in my wish list that I NEED to get! (LOL)

What are some of your faves?? Have you tried any of the new shades in the Soft Matte Lip Cream??

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoy similar ones!

March Ipsy Glam Bag

March Ipsy Glam Bag

IpsyMarchBag

My favorite bags usually come with brushes. As a junkie it’s always nifty to add to my collection. This month didn’t disappoint! I got my bag a bit late this month but thats no biggie. The theme for this month was “Hello Spring” which I am so stoked about, spring that is. Also, how epic is Lustre Lux?? She’s one of my favorite you tubers!

So far I have tried the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in the color “Kitten Heels“. It is a beautiful shade of red that would compliment any skin tone. It isn’t too orange or too pink, its a true red! It lasts a really long time without being drying but unlike a liquid lipstick it does transfer.

I also tried the Temptu Warm Glow Bronzer. Temptu is an airbrush makeup company. So I thought using this product without the airbrush machine was going to be hard (lol). Luckily it wasn’t I put a few drops on my hand and with my finger tip I applied it where I wanted it and with a damp beauty blender I went over it just to diffuse it.

Achieve naturally gorgeous, sun-kissed radiance with TEMPTU’s multi-tasking Bronzer in Warm Glow. This universally flattering shade delivers sheer to opaque coverage without blotching or streaking. Using only a few drops, apply with fingertips, brush or sponge. For a healthy glow, apply Warm Glow Bronzer where the sun naturally hits the face—cheekbones, forehead, bridge of the nose and chin. For all-over luminosity, apply to neck and décolletage. Can also be applied to the lid of the eyes for added dimension. -from the Ipsy website

Naturally I HAD to try the brush. It’s from Beau Gâchis® Paris. It is a eyeshadow brush which I used all over the lid. Originally I really liked it because it distributes the shadow so good. I didn’t have to keep dipping my brush in the eyeshadow like with other brushes. But looking at the Ipsy website I found out it has animal hair and synthetic hairs. That kind of bums me out.

Beau Gâchis® Paris’ Cosmetic Eyeshadow Brush enables beautiful, flawless application of loose and cream shadows. This handmade brush distributes pigment evenly and smoothly, and can be used to apply powder, liquid or cream products as well.

  • Individually constructed from the finest animal hair and purest synthetic fibers for quality and durability
  • Ultra soft bristles that blend easily and soften lines
  • Matte black wooden handle and durable ferrules as used by professionals

I didn’t try the Marc Anthony Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco 3 Day Smooth Perfect Blow Dry Cream. Although I didn’t try it I will say I have tried other of his products and like them, like the dry shampoo.

I will say I am excited to try the OFRA cosmetics Green Go Eyeliner. I have had my eye out for OFRA so I’m glad I get to try this product.

OFRA’s Green Go Eyeliner is a gorgeous eyeliner that applies smoothly and easily on the eyes with a velvety finish. Not only is this pencil perfect in complimenting your eye makeup but it can also be used as an eye shadow or a bold lip liner. The creativity is completely in your hands.

  • Smooth velvety finish
  • Suitable for all skin tones

WetNwildBrushes

Over the weekend I finally got my hands on these beauties. Wet n Wild is known for being cruelty free and proudly sport the bunny on all of their products. Want an honest review?? YOU NEED THESE IN YOUR COLLECTION!! They are cruelty free, gluten free, and vegan. Oh, and they’re white and pink! How cute??

Featuring two-toned synthetic Polymax fibers made of an exclusive thermoplastic polymer complex that mimics the consistency of natural hairs to pick up formula effortlessly. Holds any cream, powder, or liquid formula without absorption. – from the packaging.

I got the small stipple brush, 2 crease brush, flat top brush, and a blush brush. So far I can say they are amazing. The crease shadow brush blends so effortlessly. I used the small stippling brush to apply my highlight and by far it has been the easiest and my favorite application. I used the flat top to apply my foundation and over all it did the job good my only complaint is it did shed a few hairs. Which I can look past that because I LOVE how it left my foundation. These brushes were sold out on their website but I did a quick search for a Walgreens near me that had them in stock and luckily one did!! They are extremely inexpensive. I mean no more the $3 for the bigger brush and less than $1 for the crease brush.

As I mentioned before I am out of setting spray and since we’re about to move I didn’t want to order my holy grail -Skindanavia- and risk not getting it on time so I searched for an alternative. In the past I used the e.l.f setting spray and wasn’t a fan so I was scared to go cheap again. But Walgreens had a bogo sale going on so I said to myself, “why not?!?”. . . Or maybe my husband did since he pointed it out LOL!! I went ahead and purchased the Photo Focus Setting spray.

Lights, camera, action! This exclusive formula extends makeup wear by preventing cracking, smudging, fading, or creasing. Works with any makeup and all skin types, plus it has aloe to hydrate your skin. One step, perfect! – from the wet n wild website

I am 5hrs into wearing it and so far its good. I’m still pretty matte. No oil has broken through and my makeup is still pretty set. It has been a bit cooler today so the real test will be a hot Florida day. My first impression? Good, it has no funky odor and its holding up good. IpsyMarch bag

Verdict for the weekend?? It was a good one, haha. Despite Ipsy getting to my house late I came up on these gorgeous brushes. I cannot wait to get the rest of the collection.

Anyone else try them? How about other Temptu products??

(If you’re interested in Ipsy I have a previous post explaining how it works!)

I hope this post was helpful to anyone considering Ipsy!!  Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoy seeing what we all get in our Ipsy bags.

Monday Faves!

Monday Faves!

Todays post is going to be part favorites part face regime. I struggle with acne. Theres no denying it. Some days/weeks its calm and almost none existent and others I have huge mountains on my face. I’ve never been ashamed or embarrassed of my acne but I will admit, I am jealous of clear skin. Makeup just looks better on clear canvas.

3:7:16-3

I usually wash my face in the shower and I use the Burt’s Bees natural acne solutions purifying gel cleanser. Its gentle on the skin that it can be used every day.

• Clinically proven to wash away acne causing bacteria, excess oil and impurities
• Soothes acne-prone skin
• Non-irritating
• Helps reduce acne and prevent breakouts with Salicylic Acid from Willow Bark
• Noncomedogenic
• Dermatologist Tested

Then I use the pure-lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum. This trial size I received in my Ipsy bag and I love it! It is for all skin types. Intensive hydration, firms, brightens, and decreases puffiness. I use it during the day and night. I will definitely buy the normal size, asap!

After all that I moisturize my entire face with the philosophy’s renewed hope in a jar. This moisturizer is so gentle on the skin. Doesn’t make me oily so its a great base for my foundation.

philosophy skin labs’ original breakthrough moisturizer is changing the face of skin care again. the revolutionary lightweight, whipped formula of hope in a jar is renewed and infused with a new innovation: clinically proven skin renewal technology. this groundbreaking formulation features a triple blend of alpha hydroxy acids, 3 forms of hyaluronate plus an asian fruit extract, delivering an even longer-lasting glow and continuous hydration benefits. reaffirm your commitment to beautiful skin with renewed hope and face the future with a whole new outlook.

3:7:16-2

On days I won’t be wearing makeup I do a scrub (usually only twice a week). For that I use the St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub. I was once told using a scrub every day was actually making my skin produce more oil because of how harsh a scrub can be. It was doing amazing things to my blackheads but my face was a total butter ball. So I cut it down to twice a week. So far its good. To bring back some moisture to my face I moisturize with the Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturizer. This formula is very thick and makes me oily so I usually use it at night. But, boy, does it leave me feeling soft. So soft!

3:7:16

At night I take off my makeup and use the Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel. I think this was the product to truly help with my acne. I noticed a big change once I started using it. It’s a bit pricey but very worth it. Then I do the charcoal mask by dermale. This left my skin feeling amazing! It didn’t irritate me or cause any redness like mask often do. This sample size I also received in an Ipsy bag. (I know, I’m obsessed!) But I hope to purchase the full size because it feels incredible. I do the mask once a week. Then I just moisturize my eyes and face like usual.

I’ve spent a lot of money trying to find something that worked for me. I am in no way trying to change how I look or who I am. I just want to better my skin. My skin is maturing and it’s time to start taking real care of it. This is just what works for ME and are products I LOVE! In those infamous media world words. . .’They are my Holy Grails.’ (LOL!!) I know I need to incorporate wrinkle reducing products. Also, I have been told my acne is hormonal. Womp Womp!

Any products you have that you recommend?

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!!

Brushes. . . Brushes Galore!

Brushes. . . Brushes Galore!

If you know me personally then you already know that I am a make up brush junkie! If you are just joining me and plan to stay a while you will soon find out that, I AM A BRUSH JUNKIE! It started with this unrealistic  idea that I needed a specific brush for a specific face section to be any good. With people on youtube, instagram, and pinterest shoving content down your throat it’s easy to get caught up in these unrealistic expectations. More brushes doesn’t make you any better or less of a makeup lover, trust me! Now a days I’m more of “conscious” shopper. Is it animal cruelty free, does it shed, whats the price?? (lol)

So here I am today to talk about a brand I love and to rant, a little.

3:3:16-1

I never put much thought when I bought a sharpener. I figured they all do the same thing right?? WRONG!!!!! Im a bargain shopper, a ‘we don’t have much money’ shopper, so naturally I opted for the $0.99 sharpener and I regret it soooooooo much! I’ve ruined a few eyeliners and lip liners. So finally I told myself I’d waste a little more on something that in the long run would save me money. My old sharpener was not sharpening at all, would break off whatever I did manage to sharpen, and at times would completely pull out the product. Anyone else experience this? Any suggestions on a good sharpener??

3:3:16-2

Is anyone else obsessed with Real Technique brushes?? They are such good brushes and so affordable. My hope is to one day own all the sets they have (lol) I can’t help myself! The story behind the Real Technique creators is pretty awesome. It’s every girls dream come true. . . or maybe just mine! Here’s the Real Techniques website

3:3:16-3

This here is their blush brush. I always walk by it in the store and admire it. Finally I threw it in the cart and let the hubs pay for it. GUILT FREE! These brushes are so worth it. I’ve washed mine multiple times and have yet to experience ANY shedding. For me that’s a plus because I hate when I get little bristles left behind that itch. They are easy to clean and are synthetic too.  This specific brush retails for $9 on their website. Not bad considering a MAC blush brush is $35. I’ve seen them for sale at Ulta, Walmart, and even some Walgreens. 3:3:16-4

(Btw excuse the dirty brushes. Tonight is bath night for these babies) Pictured here: the big orange one is Powder brush $10, Pink dome brush is the Blush brush $9, Big white one is a Duo-Fiber face brush, the other small white brush is also a Duo-Fiber contour brush which comes in a set with another brush (Duo-Fiber eye brush) and retails for $20. The other orange brush is part of the Core Collection and its a Contour brush, this set retails for $18 and it includes 3 other brushes. The two purple brushes are from the Starter Set and its a Base shadow brush and a Brow Brush, this set retails for $18 and it includes 3 more eye brushes. The bag is from Ipsy.

So lets talk brushes! Any that you love and suggest??

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!!
