Valentine’s Day Look!

Valentine’s Day Look!

IMG_1020

I can’t deny how excited I am about Vday this year! Mainly because our 5-year-old is in school and she finally understands what holidays are! With another baby finding time to go on dates is hard but maybe we can do a “family date”.

I am over all happy with how this look turned out. I absolutely love the halo look.

Valentines Day 4

I personally like pink for Vday because red reminds me too much of Christmas lol. So I did a pink eye look with a rose gold halo and paired it with pink lips!

Valentines day1

I achieved this look using only ONE palette! I know crazy! I normally like to mix and get a little from here and there. Not this time! I used the Huda Beauty Rose Gold Edition.

Valentines Day 6

For a transition shade I used Shy. On the crease I used Flamingo. On the outer and inner corner I did Maneater. In the center of the lid I picked Angelic which is a rose gold. At the end once I applied eyeliner I deepened the inner and outer corner with the shade Bossy.

Valentines Day 3

For highlight I used my Wet n Wild I talked about in this post. I added that to the highest points of my cheekbones, my cupids bow, nose, and inner eye.

Also on the lips I did MAC’s Spice paired with NYX’s Sao Paolo.

I had so much fun creating this look. And I hope you enjoyed it also. Now, lets all agree to ignore my ragedy faded hair 🤣 (ps. I love snapchat filters. LOL)

IMG_1002

Do you have any big plans for this Valentine’s Day?

Fave Highlights!

Fave Highlights!

I had every intention of today’s post being a Valentine’s Day look. . . until I realized I would’ve had to pick up my daughter from school in a full face of holiday makeup. Now normally I don’t care for stuff like that but I also didn’t want to do my hair. And a Valentine’s Day look requires a nice do!

So instead I bring you my favorite part of makeup, HIGHLIGHT! For a long time I was a devoted Mary Louminizer addict until it broke and I haven’t gotten around to buying a new one. This tragedy forced me to venture out and try new products. Today I bring you variation.

I’ve included affordable and liquid highlights!

Fave Highlights 2

My die-hard favorite and OG is Laura Geller’s Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey. For an olive warm/neutral complexion like mine this highlight pairs so well. When it says it’s an illuminator it definitely is. It melts right on the skin to look so natural and radiant. It wears so well throughout the day and doesn’t fade. It retails for $26 but it’s so worth every penny!

Fave Highlights 6

Up next is Maybelline’s FaceStudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Gold. Molten Gold  in my opinion reminds me so much of Gilded Honey. Except Molten Gold has a more peach undertone where Gilded Honey is a true gold. (I will include swatches)

Fave Highlights 5

Molten Gold is a beautiful affordable highlight except it doesn’t last all day like my Laura Geller Gilded Honey. I’ve noticed that after a while it starts to fade. Which isn’t bad and its so subtle it can definitely be worn every single day to add a touch of glow to your look. This retails for $9.99.

Fave Highlights 7

When you hear “drug store products” people often think cheap worthless makeup. Wet n Wild is from far that. While it is VERY affordable its products are all that and more! It has easily become my favorite brand for highlights since it only retails for $4.99 its a steal. While I own some of the other shades this MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in Botanic Dream is my favorite because its pink! Naturally I only wear it on Wednesday 😜 JK

Fave Highlights 9

This is another highlight that provides a beautiful sheen of glow without being powdery or over bearing. Highlights can sometimes be too much and I opt for more of a natural glow formula. . . as if we glowed in pink. LOL! When I want an intense look I will pair this with my  Colourpop Highlight

Fave Highlights 10

Last in my Faves collection is NYX’s Born to Glow Illuminator in Gleam. This is another shade that goes very well with my complexion. I often opt to wear this alone when I only do mascara and eyebrow gel.

I mentioned in another post how dry my skin has been and how I mixed a liquid highlight with my primer and this is it! It’s so versatile in the sense it can be worn alone, layered with another highlight for a brighter look, and over makeup as just a highlight on its own. NYX is another brand that’s very affordable with great products.

It retails for $7.49!! STEAL!!

Fave Highlights Swatch

From left to right: Maybelline’s Molten Gold, Wet nWild’s Botanic Dream, Laura Geller’s Gilded Honey, and NYX’s Gleam.

Fave Highlights Swatch2

I had so much fun with this post because I absolutely love these products. They’re so beautiful, affordable, and FUN!

What are some of your favorite highlighters? Do you like high-end or drugstore better?

Updated Face Routine!

Updated Face Routine!

I never thought I’d be the type of person whose makeup routine would change. Since I started wearing makeup I’ve always been oily. Regardless if I wear makeup or not. I oil up like there’s no tomorrow. But this winter that has changed! Let me tell you its thrown me for a loop.

violet2

I was pretty set on using primers that would keep me matte. Especially with living here in Florida I never imagined I’d experience “dry” skin. Its strange!

violet3

First things first I double moisturize. Crazy, I know! I have dry patches therefore I will double moisturize in those areas. Everywhere else I just stick to one. My overall face moisturizer is my trusty Philosophy Renewed Hope In A Jar. Then I layer a small amount of Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet.

violet

For primer I’ve only recently changed it to Dr. Brandts Pores No More Luminizer Primer. I was on the hunt for a primer that would make my dull skin luminous since I felt like with dry skin adding layers of color correcting wasn’t for me. So a little hack I had going was I’d combine a small amount of liquid highlighter with my Benefit’s PoreFessional Face Primer. This worked good but I wanted to eliminate a step to my routine.

Foundation hasn’t changed. . . I’m still a die-hard fan of Wet & Wild Photofocus Foundation. I have to combine two colors which in a way is a win because I can change it up if need be. Something else that has changed is my concealer. I’ve opted for a shade lighter than my foundation for a every day look. I’ve been obsessed with L.A Girl concealer and I am still setting my makeup with RCMA setting powder.

violet4

Something new I do that I’m not sure if I have mentioned it before is instead bronzing with a bronzer I have opted to bronze with MAC’s Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. I am in the shade NC42 during the summer and NC40 during winter (or when im not in the sun much). I just place that in a 3 motion on the face. Then to contour I use Benefit’s Hoola Matte Bronzer and I don’t bring that up to my forehead. Even tanned I’ve felt it bronzed me way too much.

violet5

Eyebrows are basic just Essence brow gel. Mascara is still L’oreal telescopic. Hightligher is Maybelline’s Facestudio Master Chrome Metallic Hightligheter in Molten Gold. My lips have been super basic too, MAC’s Stripdown. Thats it. IMG_0910

As you can see it is seriously my go to makeup look. I have bought some new goodies I can’t wait to try out that are for “dry” skin. So a new post with that will be coming soon.

Ok, now we can acknowledge the hair. LOL!! This post is about to get serious. . . I was pregnant. Sadly we lost the baby a few weeks ago. Wearing makeup and changing my hair is an effort to be myself again. I was in a deep funk which was borderline depression and I felt I needed change. I needed some color in my life when it all felt so dark and gray.

To achieve this color I used Lime Crime’s Moonchild. It obviously wasnt enough and I will be going over it again. But so far I like it! A LOT!! (I will be including the dye in my upcoming posts. If anyones interested.)

What are some tips you have for seasonal dry skin? Any new favorite makeup I should know about?? Tips for dyed hair??

Current Favorites!!

Current Favorites!!

I’M BACK!! Today I would like to tell you guys about my current favorites! My skin has taken a turn for the worst and has broken out so bad! I blame it on a bad skin care routine and stress. With that being said I haven’t been wearing much makeup but when I do here is what I’ve been loving!

We will start with eyeshadow we all know that’s our obsession.

IMG_0468

My husband was deployed in Dubai and this is one of the gifts he brought back! The Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette. Let me first say Huda is goals. A beauty blogger who now has her own makeup line?? YES, please! The shades in this palette are gorgeous. It has easily become my day-to-day go to (when I do wear makeup).

IMG_0466-2

DSC00862 copy

The pigmentation is everything! I regret not taking pictures as soon as I got it since I’ve had it for a month now and have dipped into it plenty and as you can see it still looks new. It’s so pigmented that I’ve had to tap off as much as I can because I have a very heavy hand. The consistency is very soft and buttery. But the textured shadows have an almost mousse consistency. I apply those (and have noticed it works better) with just my fingertip. What I love the most is the endless eye looks that can be created with this palette. Soft glam, smokey, even a beautiful halo! It has great transition shades, crease shades, and a great selection of lid shades.

This palette retails for $65 which is easily one of my most expensive eyeshadow palettes and its sold at Sephora .

Next is these two Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour blushes. DSC00863 copy

I received the first one named Paarty for my birthday from Sephora. The second one I actually got from my Ipsy November Glam Bag. The color is Feisty which is a “dusty rose”. On the Ipsy website it has the 3 shades they sent out but they don’t on the   Tarte website. So I’m not sure if it was an Ipsy exclusive.

Super soft, silky powder chock full of true-color mineral pigments lets you layer on your glow with no harsh lines or chalky build-up. Its micronized Amazonian clay helps control oil & infuse moisture for balanced skin & seamless blending. The magnetized pan lets you pop your favorite shade from its compact to create a custom palette.

IMG_0470

Something else I received in last months Glam Bag is this Crown Brush. It is the C141 Small Chisel Brush that “is great for highlight and blush.” AGREED!

IMG_0474-2

IMG_0476

I actually use it for blush and I love it. Before this brush I used Luxie’s angled brush to apply blush and I thought I’d never give it up. I was wrong. This brush is so soft. I haven’t gotten to the best part. . . this brush retails for ONLY $5.69! 😱

The grand finale is another Dubai gift. Chanel Rouge Coco in the shade Adrienne. It is such a lightweight classic nude.

IMG_0479

IMG_0483

I pair it with MAC’s StripdownIMG_0488-2

IMG_0486

The lipstick alone is very creamy so I do recommend lining the lips before applying it. And it just so happens to pair so great with Stripdown. Stripdown in my opinion is such a classic everyday color. I usually use it as a lip color on its own if I want a wash of color on the lips. However, this lipliner can be VERY drying. On the Mac website this is described as a brown beige and I’ve seen it be very brown on some skin tones and more mauve on my own.

Overall these products have worked so well and I enjoy them so much!

What are some of your current favorites?

Does it work???

Does it work???

I am always on the hunt for a new foundation. Although I have some I absolutely love I like to give me skin breaks from certain products. Especially if its something I’ve repurchased many times. For the past couple of months I have been using Wet n Wild’s photofocus foundation which I absolutely love! In my opinion I’d say it’s very similar to Estee Lauder’s DoubleWear. But I started breaking out! I had these small tiny bumps that made my skin look so bad.

It was wasn’t like cystic acne where its big and painful. Just these tiny bumps under the skin. I thought back to what new products I’d been using and it was the combination of Milk Cosmetics face primer and the Wet n Wild foundation. So I left those behind and reverted back to my trustees, holy grail, never fail routine. Moisturize, prime with Benefit’s Porefessional, and top it off with the DoubleWear foundation. DSC_0408

But one day I got brave and walked into Sephora and explained my situation to a consultant. Sometimes I hate doing that because no one knows my skin like. . . me, right? But I went ahead and did the color match (which is something I struggle a lot with) and they did this thing where it can tell my type of skin I have. I had a ton of color hits like seriously I could find a color that matched me in every single brand!! And she said I had  normal skin.

I explained to her how I wanted to try a foundation stick and she showed me my options but I just felt that because I do have acne scars I rather stick with something that provides better coverage. That’s how I ended up with Becca’s Ultima Coverage Complexion Creme. It retails for $44 so I wanted it to work soooo bad! She sampled it on my skin and instantly I liked the coverage, BUT I’m used to very thin foundations and this is a creme.

DSC_0422.png

I bravely bought it and then looked up reviews. . . bad idea! I was so scared of it because it had mixed reviews and then I texted my BFF and she agreed the reviews were scary! LOL. But in the end I can sincerely say I’m glad I got it. Its taken me a bit to adjust to the formula and to figure out if its best applied with a sponge or brush.

DSC_0423

From my personal experience I like it better with a brush. I use the Morphe MB8 and it works AMAZING! Then when I apply my concealer I spray a little fix plus and go over all the foundation and concealer. To avoid any streaks that may be left behind. The foundation itself has no scent unlike the Wet n Wild one and one pump goes along way!

DSC_0425

For a while now I’ve sort of obsessed with the idea of getting lip injections. Simply to alter the shape of my lips and to give them more of pout. I am happy with their size but I just wish my bottom one was slightly bigger. So naturally like any other makeup obsessed person out there you find a way to make it work! And that’s how I came across this product.

DSC_0426.png

DSC_0435.png

I swear I didn’t walk into Target looking for this specific product. I had recently read somewhere that Soap and Glory had an amazing eyeliner and I wanted it! But alas they didn’t have it and I have always been curious to try their makeup products since I already loved their hand cream! While looking I noticed their lip plumper and I used to have one by TooFaced that I loveedddd but never repurchased it!

So far I like it. But does it work? I think so. It made my lips tingle and feel a little bigger but I didn’t notice much of difference. But that was my first time using it. I’m not giving up on it. I will say I hate the scent or rather, dislike! It’s like a funky chocolate smell. And not good chocolate, lol! It goes away after a while though so I can look past it. The formula is thick and sticky but I don’t mind it. I needed a break from the mattes.

I purchased mine in Clearvoyant which is a clear gloss with a tiny shimmer but there are other colors to choose from. Like a nude, pink, and even a coral. Perhaps Ill apply it remove it and line my lips to see if I notice a difference. It still retails for a lot cheaper than most lip plumping glosses, win! And maybe it’ll help me change my mind from injections!

Any Soap and Glory products you swear by? Or perhaps a foundation you love??

IMG_0189-2This post is to brag a little of a few items I posted about in my Colourpop Mini Haul. Today I tried a few new things. First off all I switched up my moisturizer to one I received in my Ipsy’s April Glam Bag. So far I love it! Seriously might purchase a full size.

IMG_0186-2

Something else that is new is the shade in my crease. I used “Brady” by Colourpop. I was a bit scared to use these shadows because I’ve only used their chrome ones and for that the best application is the fingertip. For this shadow I used a fluffy Morphe brush that is for contouring the nose.

I LOVE how it looks on the lid. They’ve worn so good and for a base I used MAC painterly paint pot in “soft ochre”.

IMG_0146-2

Now what I want to brag about and encourage you to buy is the holographic highlighter in “Monster”. If you read my mini haul then you saw this highlighter but I totally forgot to swatch it so here it is! I feel so pretty. I didn’t pack it on and I used a duo fiber brush so maybe that’s why it went on so soft and subtle. But I like it better than some of my “gold” highlighters. Because of my tan complexion many highlighters tend to look chalky. And perhaps because of the mousse formula I didn’t feel like this looked chalky on me at all. I paired it with a pink blush and obviously the pink eye. I also went soft and light on the lips with a Milani liquid lipstick.

If it’s possible I love Colourpop even more now and feel like I need to go and purchase more of its holographic highlighters! 🙊

IMG_0144-2

I also did a thing with my hair. Did you notice?? I’ve slowly been working towards getting my hair a “silver”. Thoughts??? I like it sooo much! I am naturally ashy so I didn’t feel like it was such a big change but we will be bleaching it again and doing silver perhaps once more. Since the hubby is gone I can go ahead and go crazy because he’s a creature of habit and never liked the idea of blonde on me. But my ultimate goal is to be platinum. I know I’m crazy! But for now I love my hair this way!! Maybe, I’ll even do some pastels. My bff just did purple and she looks GORGEOUS!!

Hope you liked this post and I’ve tipped you over on wether you should try Colourpop or not. It’s seriously affordable and such great quality. The pigmentation is everything and they have a lot of variety!

What are some of your holy grail Colourpop items? Anything you think I should try? Also, what color should I try on my hair?? Lets go CRAZY!!! 🤗

Until next time. . .

Love it OR Hate it??

Love it OR Hate it??

I feel like the word hate should never be used when speaking about makeup, am I right? But today I bring you some products I love and maybe one I hate or dislike. I’m not sure yet but I’ll explain why.

DSC_0044.jpg

My first love is this moisturizer from Burt’s Bees. I’ve always liked this company and even more after I watched the documentary on it. I purchased this particular item when we traveled and I forgot my moisturizer at home. As someone who is acne prone and very oily I have a hard time finding products that go well with my skin. This daily moisturizing cream in sensitive has been awesome.

• Softens and can help shield skin from potential irritants with Cotton Extract
• Moisturizes with Rice Extract
• Formulated with Jojoba Esters, a natural emollient
• Does not cause redness or irritation
• All day formula
• Formulated with Aloe to soothe
• Fragrance Free and Hypoallergenic
• Allergy Tested and Dermatologist Tested – Burt’s Bees website

DSC_0045

Once again Milk cosmetics blur stick is back on the “love” list. I can’t get enough of it. #MOTD & First Impressions Here I talk more about it. As of now I am still in love. My skin has changed, again! The dry patches are gone but now I have a lot of textured skin. I can’t figure out what’s causing it. But this primer has definitely helped with evening out my face’s appearance.

DSC_0047

This is my hate/dislike. This is Urban Decay’s All Nighter Liquid foundation. At first I absolutely loved this foundation. It stays matte all day. . . But here is what I dislike: it oxidizes bad. It changes almost three whole shades. It’s also started to separate on the skin. I can’t figure out if its my routine before applying the foundation or the foundation itself. I mentioned this to my best friend and she looked up reviews and I guess they’re pretty bad. I also feel like I can’t set it with just any setting spray. I think that’s what adds to the separation.

DSC_0048.jpg

My last LOVE is Tarte’s  Double Duty Beauty Shape tape contour concealer. This concealer took the internet by storm. Of course I also jumped on the bandwagon and haven’t looked back since. It is everything a concealer is supposed to be or do? lol! For a while it was so hard to find it in stores. Something about Tarte not making enough for the demand of it. A little goes a long way so one swipe from the applicator is enough to cover the under eye.

Sculpt and highlight as you mask imperfections with this 2-in-1 full coverage concealer. The hydrating, longwearing formula delivers natural, radiant coverage across all skin types so you can instantly brighten and cover acne, dark circles and redness while softening the look of pores and fine lines. Wear it 1-2 shades lighter or darker, and it works as a creamy highlighter or contouring stick with a lightweight, blendable formula and tapered wand applicator ideal for precise strobing and sculpting. Powered by Amazonian clay and conditioning mango seed and shea butters, the nutrient-rich concealer helps promote skin elasticity and illumination with each crease-free application. Apply it with the all-in-one Quickie Blending Sponge (sold separately) for a quick, complexion fix and flake-free finish anywhere.

Laura Mercier & RCMA Setting Powder

Laura Mercier & RCMA Setting Powder

Laura Mercier

If like me you tend to get oily then you understand the importance of a setting powder. I am also the type of person that when they find something that works I will stick to it indefinitely if possible, lol! That was the case with the Laura Mercier translucent setting powder.

DSC_0404-2.png

I swear by it! Especially during hot Florida summers. I thought nothing could beat it! It has some amazing properties:

Modern Matte Finish

Creates a modern matte finish with a touch of sheer coverage. The translucent shade works on virtually all skin tones.

Soft-Focus Effect for a More Flawless Look

Like all Laura Mercier Setting Powders, it has a soft-focus effect that subtly blurs the look of fine lines and imperfections. Doesn’t settle into fine lines or pores and never looks cakey.

Formulation Details

Oil-free. Non-comedogenic. Non-caking. Dermatologically tested. Laura Mercier Website

BUT I noticed that for winter it was horrible. It dried my under eye soooo much! I mean to the point that I felt some tightening in that area that was very uncomfortable. I tried several setting sprays and even a more “dewey” concealer for my under eye but I wasn’t having it. It’s very important for me to have my under eye set because I have a natural deep crease below my lower lash line that if not set correctly foundation and concealer while pile up in there. Its very annoying because I noticed that affect makes me look tired.

That’s when I went on a quest and considered a pressed setting powder. Which I was using MAC’s powdered foundation to set the rest of my face but it was clinging to my dry spots I mentioned in this post. I know I know a powder foundation isn’t a setting powder but I had it so I gave it a shot. Then my BFF mentioned the RCMA setting powder. She never steers me wrong so naturally I looked into it. I looked at many reviews and everyone seemed to love it.

DSC_0411.png

When you first see it its a little strange because of the packaging it comes in. It looks like something that belongs in the kitchen in the seasoning section! LOL! But don’t be put off by it. This loose powder is just as amazing as the Laura Mercier one. It sets beautifully on the skin. Has no flash back which if you’re going out and are taking pictures with the flash on you know this is important. The best part is how affordable it is. While the big container of the Laura Mercier retails for $38 this one is only $12. It can be found here. It doesn’t do the drying thing the other one did which I was so thankful for. And it sets beautifully with any setting spray. Now like my best friend mentioned it does look a bit white after you apply it but that can be solved with some setting spray!

Now both these powders can be applied with a damp beauty blender, a setting brush, even a big puffy brush like I pictured. But if you’re not into baking (which you can do with both powders) a brush will do just as good as the sponge. The only problem with the RCMA is the container itself doesn’t have anywhere to put the powder so I find myself trying to squeeze my brush in it or dumping a ton out on a surface. So if that’s an issue for you I’d stick with the damp sponge.

Over all I love the performance of both powders. This isn’t a comparison or a dupe post it’s simply me talking about two products I love. Maybe I’d think of it as a “winter and summer setting powder”.

Are there any other setting powders you love/recommend? I am always on the hunt for some good setting products! 🤗

Until next time. . .

#MOTD & First Impressions

#MOTD & First Impressions

dsc_0326

So like the seasons we change too and my recent routine has been a major change for me. I’m always itching to try new things and these are some of the products I’ve been using in my every day routine. Now, some of these I just got and haven’t used them for long so I’ll be giving you my “first impression” some others I’ve had.

As you can see by the pic my z palette has been my go to palette since purchasing the Colourpop shadows. In this post I talk more in-depth about them. Something else I’ve had for a while is the Hoola bronzer I got personalized, here’s the post for it! I kind of refused to use it because it’s so special to me but I broke down and did it. Which I’m glad I did its become one of my faves. The MAC lipstick is Velvet Teddy and the lip liner is spice. Such a pretty nude-ish combo. I also changed how I prime my eyes. Urban Decay’s Primer Potion wasn’t cutting it for me anymore so I switched to MAC’s Paint pot. It helps my shadow not fade with time because I do have oily lids.

dsc_0333

I swear by the Porefessional pore filler but I needed change. My skin changed and while I’m still oily I have been getting dry patches around my nose and the pore filler was accentuating them. I was done. I needed something more sheer but still promoted diminishing the appearance of pores. I also have the dr. Brandt pores no more. Even though it’s a lot thinner than the Porefessional it still felt thick on my dry patches. Which is what lead me to try the Milk cosmetics Blur stick. It is silicone and oil free which I didn’t know if your moisturizer or foundation has any of those it may clash with the primer and have a negative effect on the appearance of the makeup. I am extremely happy with it so far. I’ve only worn it a handful of times but so far its good. It retails for $36 so I am praying to the makeup gods we get along, 😆

dsc_0343

These Wet n Wild foundations are new for me. I purchased them over a month ago and I have such a love hate relationship with them. First off the shade between these two was pinkish so I went ahead and purchased a light shade and a darker one, combined, they’re a perfect match. Another thing that’s a bit of turn off is the scent of the actual foundation it’s very strong and reminds me of paint. But it wears so beautifully on the skin. It’s very light weight and can be built up without getting heavy. (CAKE 🎂FACE IS LIFE THOOO!! lol) It’s very very matte and I am very oily so trust me when I tell you it will last. This wears for I’d say 6+ hours before I start getting a little oily. As the name suggest its photo focus so it has no flash back and looks AMAZING in pictures.

img_6019
Does well with textured skin

dsc_0335

This Pixi Glow Mist is also new to me. Like I mentioned before the wet n wild foundation is very matte and with the dry patches I’m experiencing I needed a bit of hydration back in my skin. I tried setting my makeup with MAC’s fix+ right after setting it with the RCMA powder then finishing with Urban Decay setting spray but I still looked very dry. This is another product I’ve only used a handful of times but I’m happy with it. I used it to set immediately after I use my powder products; such as bronzer, blush, and setting powder. It leaves a beautiful sheen without being oily. . . or as the name suggest it leaves a glow. BUT its a very natural healthy glow. Not oily at all. I wore it for 4+ hours and never got heavily oily! Verdict?!? DRENCH YOURSELF IN IT! lol no jk But it does smell amazing so you might want to.

img_6024

img_6020

This #motd has been my go to because it’s so easy. It also focuses more on the skin than the eyes which is the opposite of what I usually do. I start soft and minimal black out and end up with a harsh contour, smokey eye, and bold lip LOL! In these pictures I am wearing all the products I’ve mentioned.

Anyone else obsessed with snapchat filters?! What are some new products you’ve recently tried? Have you tried anything I mentioned??

Colourpop Pressed Shadows & More

Colourpop Pressed Shadows & More

dsc_0276

Normally I like to post at least one Makeup Of The Day (MOTD) a week but we are once again in the middle of a move (story of my life, huh?). Instead I thought I’d do a post I’ve been dying to do! A while back I got a visa gift card and did not know what to get.

dsc_0302

Through Ipsy I’ve gotten pans of shadows and blush so I purchased a z palette to hold it all together. Ever since I’ve been wanting to purchase some single shadows but there’s so many options out there that I was over whelmed. As a stay at home with one income I’ve learned that not everything that’s raved about on Youtube is worth your buck. So I narrowed it down to three company’s I’d want to buy single shadows from: Mac, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and Makeup Geek.

dsc_0277
The three bottom shadows are Makeup Geeks Peach smoothie, Cocoa bear, and Faux fur.

dsc_0316Mac didn’t have any and Anatasia Beverly Hills were $12 per pan! (I had a mini heart attack when I saw the price) The best reasonably priced were Makeup Geek. We’ve seen them everywhere and have heard great things. Unlike the ABH shadows these retailed for HALF THE PRICE! I know amazing right?! Of course I bought the most popular shadows: Peach smoothie, Cocoa bear, and Faux fur. I absolutely love them. They’re very pigmented and blend soooo smoothly. I recommend them.

The stars of this post are the Colourpop Pressed shadows. Anything you’ve heard about these is true! Colourpop specializes in affordable dazzling colors and when it came to these shadows they delivered.  I purchased Running late (the first pan in the palette) which reminds me a lot of peach smoothie, Wake up call (a soft brown that is perfect as a transition shade), Mili I actually received free because Colourpop reached 1,000,000 likes on Facebook (the only shimmer I got), Wait for it (the first pan in the second row) is a pretty soft pink/coral that I love as a transition shade, Stay Golden is the hot pink of the bunch, and last but not least is Piece of Cake which is described as a beautiful Indigo on the Colourpop website.

Some pros to these shadows are the color pay off. They are very pigmented and a little goes a long way. They are also very very easy to blend and buttery. Like the other Colourpop shadows they come in bright pretty shades. Cons? When you dip your brush you’ll notice it has a lot of fall out. One more . . . the blue is a bit sheer but with some layering it does good. Now this will be music to your ears these only retail for $5!!

Compared to the Makeup geek the only difference is that they have very little fall out. But I have one more shadow to talk about that I actually got in an Ipsy bag. It is the Ofra cosmetics “You Glow Girl”. It is a colab Ofra Cosmetics did with “dupethat” and it is a pretty pink shimmer that can be used for the face or eyes. I personally use it as just an eyeshadow. My opinion here will be of this product used as an eyeshadow not a highlighter (although I have used it as a highlight). This also has a lot of fall out. But the color pay off is awesome and it is such a beauty to use in a halo eye.

Over all I am so happy with how my Z palette is looking and I can’t wait to add more shadows to it. Especially from ABH and Mac. *wishful thinking* If you’re thinking of buying single shadows I recommend all three of these companies. (Don’t quote me on the Ofra ones since I only own one.) The price points are awesome, they have a lot of colors to choose from, and the pigmentation is everything!

Do you own any of the Colourpop pressed shadows or Makeup geek?? Any shades I need? Any other companies I should try?!?
