MODA Prismatic Face Perfecting Kit

DSC_0247

Are you brush obsessed like I am?? If your answer is yes than this post is for you! If you’re not than stick around for some pretty colors! LOL. I originally saw these Royal and Langnickel “MODA” oval brushes on Pinterest. I have always been interested in brushes like this because its meant to be used on yourself as opposed to “regular” makeup brushes that are meant to be used on other people. I, however, did not like the price point of some of the brushes out there!

These babies retail for $24.99 on the Royal and Langnickel website. But if you’re lucky you can find them at Walmart for $16 and some change. The colors are beautiful and the brush bristles are extremely soft. If you’re into the Unicorn or Mermaid trend these are for YOU!

I’ve talked about some of the stuff I like how about I mention one or two things I don’t like: the brush handle feels very flimsy. Perhaps that’s where the pricier brushes are better. I feel like if my toddler got a hold of them they’re toast. (If you have kids at home you understand the makeup brush struggle) Another thing is (and this is personal experience) I can’t adjust to the change. I’ve used them for about a week now and I still have some trouble. Maybe with time I can get used to it.

Some other stuff I read on the reviews is that cleaning is a bit hard because of how dense they are. For me that’s no big deal because I usually make an event out cleaning my brushes, LOL!

Onto important stuff. . . how do they apply the product? As beautiful as they look. I did have trouble getting into the crevices by the nose. Might be because I used the big brush for foundation (#801). I then used the second to biggest (#802) for concealer and I was blown away! It eliminated the need to blend one more time to get rid of any creases before powder like my beauty blender does. As for the other two brushes I can’t say since I want to use them to contour but with cream products.

So, as of now I can’t say “I love them”. But that’s just because I’m not used to them because as far as how they work its amazing! And they’re pretty on the eyes 😝

Do you own brushes like these? Do you love them? Any tips or suggestions you might have?

Until next time. . .

Ipsy’s May Glam Bag

This month’s Ipsy Glam bag was themed, “Destination Chic”. What I was most excited in the sneak peek was the bag itself! It’s so cute and the color is so vibrant. I also liked it was a snap instead of a zipper. I can see myself throwing some keys, some lipgloss, and an ID and hitting the town with it.

SMASHBOXXRATED

XRATEDWAND

This month I was super stoked for Smashbox’s X-Rated Mascara. This mascara has been getting a lot of attention on social media and as a die-hard lover of Too Faced Better Than Sex I am always on the look out for a new mascara. When it comes to mascara I unfortunately have a hard time trusting drugstore ones because I have had such severe allergic reactions to them that I just avoid them if I can.

Smashbox is back at it again! This triple threat brush isolates and magnifies each lash, while applying its fiber-loaded formula. The result? Sky-high and defined lashes in just one swipe. Bonus: the formula is clump, flake and smudge-proof! – Ipsy website

SLMISSGLAM

SLMISSGLAMBRUSH

Another product I was excited for was this brush by Slmissglam. This is the Small Contour W07 Brush. I love brushes and a new contour brush is always appreciated BUT the packaging FOR ME is a bit “too much”. Most of my brushes are either white or black. It is cruelty free and synthetic so that’s good but it is extremely pricey. I can’t find it alone on the website since they seem to only sell as sets. This is the website if anyone wants to take a peek.

BELLAPIERRE

BELLAPIERRENUDE

Ipsy has been featuring bellapierre a lot and I like most of its products. This is their Gel Liner Pencil in Nude. I love the shade by itself. On the bellapierre website it says this liner is waterproof. It retails for $18 so Ipsy takes the W with this product alone!

These waterproof lip pencils can be used to prep the lips for Mineral Lipstick, or on their own as an all-over lip color. Creating a perfectly defined pout that lasts all day has never been easier, with these creamy liners that glide on effortlessly. Formulated with pure minerals, natural waxes, and antioxidants, these are hypoallergenic and safe for all skin types. -bellapierre website

LOTIONMICELLAIRE

This is yet another product I was excited for. Everyone is talking about micellar water to remove makeup and I’ve been so hesitant to jump on that wagon. Products like this can break me out so I am always extremely careful when it comes to trying them out. This is Avene Micellar Lotion Cleanser and Make-up Remover.

Benefits

3-in-1 cleanser, toner and make-up remover
Effectively removes all traces of make-up on face, eyes and lips
No-rinse formula
Restores hydrolipidic barrier
Softens the skin

KEY INGREDIENTS

Glycols hydrate the skin
Avène Thermal Spring Water soothes, softens and calms the skin – Avene website

I also received this lip balm but we lost it somewhere between yesterday and today. Haha

Over all I was pleased with this month’s bag. Cant wait to try everything!

What was your favorite from this month’s bag??

(I want to apologize for skipping Monday favorites. We just found out we are expecting and its been a bit crazy around here. Can’t wait to get things in order and keep with my Monday Wednesday Friday posting.)

Brushes, Monday Favorites, Uncategorized

Monday faves, it’s BRUSHES!

As the title says today’s Monday Faves will be brushes. I will tell you all about my favorite eye brushes. My brush obsession knows no limits!! From eye brushes, to face, even body brushes, I have them all! We did a little belated mothers day shopping and I almost got brushes. KEYWORD: almost, LOL! (I’m going to apologize in advance for not using my Nikon for this post.)

MORPHE

For setting my eye primer or eye concealer I like using a mini angled buffer by Morphe from the 690 – 6 PIECE DELUXE CONTOUR SET. I got this set from Hautelook for 50% off so it was a steal. The bristles are very soft on the lids. I don’t know how it would blend but just for setting it does amazing.

LUXIESONIAKASHUK

I have several brushes I like for my crease. My ultimate favorite ‘I freak out’ when I lose it is the #109 By Sonia Kashuk. At $5.99 it’s a great brush. Blends seamlessly, is very soft on the lids, and has minimal shedding. Another crease favorite is Luxie’s #205 Tapered Blending Brush. I used to like this brush for my outer corner until I started using it’s sister brush. So one day when my Sonia Kashuk was dirty I picked up this 205 and have never looked back. It’s become one of my must haves, love it forever, “holy grail” blending brush.

UDSIGMA

Ok, so I’m going to be completely honest with you guys; I look up everything I post. I don’t like giving you guys the wrong info. Sooooo in doing just that I found out Urban Decay actually sells the palette brushes individually. HOW DID I NOT KNOW?!? Lol, anyway, I love this brush from my Naked 2 palette to pack on shadow on the lid. If thats dirty my Sigma E55 from the Color Pop Collection does amazing.

ELFBRUSH

I enjoy little gems in the rough and this e.l.f. crease brush is just that. At only a $1 I think a lot of people look past it. I don’t use it as the name suggests but that’s the beauty of makeup, anything goes. I use this inexpensive brush to pack on color in my outer corner. I then blend that out with another brush. Works amazing! The bristles are a bit stiff that’s why I personally don’t use it for the crease but thats just MY opinion.

LUXIE BRUSHES

I like smoking out my bottom lashes with Luxie’s #221 Flat Definer and #231 Small Tapered Blending brush. All these Luxie eye brushes came in a set together I purchased through Ipsy for $25! Winning!

DETAIL SHADOW BRUSH

Last but not least is this cute, random, black brush I like for applying inner corner highlight. This brush came from the very first set of brushes I ever purchased and I cannot remember the name of it. If I had to compare it to another brush I’d say it performs just like Real Techniques accent brush: designed for precision detailing, spotlighting, highlighting, and smudging from the Starter Set .

I cannot have enough brushes and there’s a few sets out there that I have my eyes on. I try to find brushes that are vegan. Sadly sometimes I don’t do my research and I have purchased brushes that are from ‘animal hair’.

What are some of your favorite eye brushes? Any you recommend? Also, would anyone like to see my little Mother’s day haul? lol

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!
