If you are on social media at all you’ve noticed pinks, coppers, peach, and anything along those lines is IN for spring. Its been raining and warm here in Florida so it feels a lot like spring. YAY! Originally I had asked my 3yr old how I should do my makeup and she suggested a character from “Ever After High” a cartoon. I was all up for it until I went to get my palettes and sitting there all alone was this beautiful single shadow from Colourpop in Sequin. I purchased this and 4 other colors a while back but since I don’t go out much (no babysitter) I have always felt like they’re too vibrant and sparkly for every day use.
BUT today I kicked caution to the wind and I did it. Sequin is such a beautiful color with beautiful undertones.
A copper penny like shade with silver and gold glitter. Find a boy, pick him up, all day long you’ll get good….. -from their website
I had to share that because that is truly the only way to describe it. It is part of their metallic collection. It makes an amazing lid shade. The consistency of these shadows is a bit tricky because it feels like a mousse but it’s so soft like a powder. One of the things I learned the hard way was to get the full pay out of the color it is best applied with the fingertip. I tried using it with a synthetic brush and it was good just seemed kind of sloppy because it does have glitter.
Originally when starting this post I was going to be lazy and not use my camera to photograph the shadow but I had to do it proper justice. My phone just wasn’t picking up the color how I wanted it. Colourpop is very inexpensive (these single pots cost only $5), they are made in the USA, and they don’t test on animals (hashtag WINNING!!). I have never had any issues with them and I genuinely enjoy them so much. They are such pretty colors!
I had such a hard time trying to get my phone to pick up the color but it wouldn’t.
I tried so many times. I even went outside in the rain but I truly feel like my silly phone didn’t capture it. Or maybe I messed up in the process of application when I used my Tartelette in bloom palette and used a “similar” shade as a base.
Anyone else obsessing over spring?? How about over Colourpop shadows??
Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoy similar ones!
