Monday Fave!!

We are in the middle of moving which is such a drag! We’ve started taking down everything from the walls which included my makeup shelf. Luckily it’s not an insane amount of makeup so it was easy to pack.

For Christmas my mother in law got me a makeup traveling case to keep my makeup away from my toddler. But it’s come in handy now that we’re moving. It’s amazing and a must have for anyone that moves like we do. (My husband is active duty). So I know I’ll use it a lot.

It has multiple and adjustable compartments. The center is also open and deep to stack stuff in there. On the trays I have lip products, anything in a tube, and single eyeshadows. In the center I put my palettes. Which by the way I saved all the original packaging. I’m a bit of a hoarder 😟 (lol) so that’s come in handy! I also put all of my ipsy bags, cream contour palettes, and the brushes I don’t use every day in the center.

As you can see I have already dug through it even though I did set aside a makeup bag with every day essentials. The case itself is super sturdy as my 3yr old tested it out as a stool! The outside is a faux snake skin material. The inside trays are a hard plastic and the big compartment is felt lined. It comes with a detachable strap which would come in handy for a traveling makeup artist. . . Which is my ultimate goal! It’s pretty heavy so I’m thankful for the strap.

Anyone else this particular about their makeup during moves or vacations?!?

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!

It’s been storming and gloomy in good ol’ Florida so I haven’t been in the mood for bright spring colors. Initially I was going for a “no makeup” makeup look but then.  . . Makeup happens!

I had done a dark berry lip Cherry bomb by Wet n Wild but decided it was too much just to lounge around the house. Even after I wiped off the lipstick (with a makeup wipe) it left a stain behind which I actually liked better. Haha!! Question, anyone else feels like no mascara on the lower lashes makes a look look softer? Or is it just me?

Here’s pretty much the same look just with a different lip. In this one I am wearing Stockholm by NYX. Excuse the hair like I mentioned it’s been raining a lot here.

I absolutely love using my bronzer as a crease shade on days I’m going simple. It just gives the lid some definition without it being too overwhelming.

You will also notice in the above photos I filled in my eyebrows which is something I don’t do often. I’ve always had very thick eyebrows so usually a clear gel has been enough but lately I’ve noticed some spots where I’m missing hair. I’m a nervous/anxious/stress picker so I’ll yank on them if I feel any of those. Im not proud of it but luckily makeup does help with that since I refuse to wax my eyebrows thinner! Anyone else do this?? Just another reason to love makeup! All I do is fill them in with a dark brown eyeshadow and a small angled brush (#215 by Luxie) and set it all with an e.l.f clear eyebrow gel. IMG_1806

Snapchat filters are everything. HAHA! Now, on that silly note I will part!

What are some of your favorite “no makeup” looks?!

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoy similar ones!

NYX Liquid Lipsticks

If like me you jumped on the NYX band wagon then you’re no stranger to their Soft Matte Lip CreamIt was one of the first ‘liquid lipsticks’ that were soooo hyped up. So of course I had to try them out. I have a love/hate thing going on with these.

DSC_0275
This is San Paulo

Pro’s:

  • They smell amazing
  • Good color pay off (some colors)
  • They don’t transfer
  • Long lasting

Cons:

  • The applicator is crap! I usually have to use a small lip brush to even it out
  • They can be a bit drying
  • Some colors do need multiple applications (the darker colors)

When the Liquid Suede Cream released I was hesitant because of the issues with the matte lip creams. I didn’t even try to hype myself up for them although they have some gorgeous colors. BUT then Ipsy sent it out in their March Glam Bag and I was excited. I don’t mind FREE.99 because if I hate the product theres no loss.

DSC_0270
This is Kitten Heels

Pro’s:

  • The applicator is amazing
  • These aren’t so drying although they do dry to a matte finish
  • The formula is long lasting and even after I wiped it off for dinner there was a bit of a tint
  • I only have the shade Kitten Heels but one swipe of the wand and the color was vibrant and applied evenly

Con’s:

  • They transfer even after it dries
  • They smell horrible

NYX LIQUID LIPSTICKS

Here’s my mini NYX liquid lips collection. It’s not much but for myself I need to find formulas that aren’t very drying. I’ve always had sensitive lips. Mac’s matte lipsticks work well for me so do the Milani matte lipsticks. I won’t deny that there’s several liquid lipsticks in my wish list that I NEED to get! (LOL)

What are some of your faves?? Have you tried any of the new shades in the Soft Matte Lip Cream??

March Ipsy Glam Bag

IpsyMarchBag

My favorite bags usually come with brushes. As a junkie it’s always nifty to add to my collection. This month didn’t disappoint! I got my bag a bit late this month but thats no biggie. The theme for this month was “Hello Spring” which I am so stoked about, spring that is. Also, how epic is Lustre Lux?? She’s one of my favorite you tubers!

So far I have tried the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in the color “Kitten Heels“. It is a beautiful shade of red that would compliment any skin tone. It isn’t too orange or too pink, its a true red! It lasts a really long time without being drying but unlike a liquid lipstick it does transfer.

I also tried the Temptu Warm Glow Bronzer. Temptu is an airbrush makeup company. So I thought using this product without the airbrush machine was going to be hard (lol). Luckily it wasn’t I put a few drops on my hand and with my finger tip I applied it where I wanted it and with a damp beauty blender I went over it just to diffuse it.

Achieve naturally gorgeous, sun-kissed radiance with TEMPTU’s multi-tasking Bronzer in Warm Glow. This universally flattering shade delivers sheer to opaque coverage without blotching or streaking. Using only a few drops, apply with fingertips, brush or sponge. For a healthy glow, apply Warm Glow Bronzer where the sun naturally hits the face—cheekbones, forehead, bridge of the nose and chin. For all-over luminosity, apply to neck and décolletage. Can also be applied to the lid of the eyes for added dimension. -from the Ipsy website

Naturally I HAD to try the brush. It’s from Beau Gâchis® Paris. It is a eyeshadow brush which I used all over the lid. Originally I really liked it because it distributes the shadow so good. I didn’t have to keep dipping my brush in the eyeshadow like with other brushes. But looking at the Ipsy website I found out it has animal hair and synthetic hairs. That kind of bums me out.

Beau Gâchis® Paris’ Cosmetic Eyeshadow Brush enables beautiful, flawless application of loose and cream shadows. This handmade brush distributes pigment evenly and smoothly, and can be used to apply powder, liquid or cream products as well.

  • Individually constructed from the finest animal hair and purest synthetic fibers for quality and durability
  • Ultra soft bristles that blend easily and soften lines
  • Matte black wooden handle and durable ferrules as used by professionals

I didn’t try the Marc Anthony Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco 3 Day Smooth Perfect Blow Dry Cream. Although I didn’t try it I will say I have tried other of his products and like them, like the dry shampoo.

I will say I am excited to try the OFRA cosmetics Green Go Eyeliner. I have had my eye out for OFRA so I’m glad I get to try this product.

OFRA’s Green Go Eyeliner is a gorgeous eyeliner that applies smoothly and easily on the eyes with a velvety finish. Not only is this pencil perfect in complimenting your eye makeup but it can also be used as an eye shadow or a bold lip liner. The creativity is completely in your hands.

  • Smooth velvety finish
  • Suitable for all skin tones

WetNwildBrushes

Over the weekend I finally got my hands on these beauties. Wet n Wild is known for being cruelty free and proudly sport the bunny on all of their products. Want an honest review?? YOU NEED THESE IN YOUR COLLECTION!! They are cruelty free, gluten free, and vegan. Oh, and they’re white and pink! How cute??

Featuring two-toned synthetic Polymax fibers made of an exclusive thermoplastic polymer complex that mimics the consistency of natural hairs to pick up formula effortlessly. Holds any cream, powder, or liquid formula without absorption. – from the packaging.

I got the small stipple brush, 2 crease brush, flat top brush, and a blush brush. So far I can say they are amazing. The crease shadow brush blends so effortlessly. I used the small stippling brush to apply my highlight and by far it has been the easiest and my favorite application. I used the flat top to apply my foundation and over all it did the job good my only complaint is it did shed a few hairs. Which I can look past that because I LOVE how it left my foundation. These brushes were sold out on their website but I did a quick search for a Walgreens near me that had them in stock and luckily one did!! They are extremely inexpensive. I mean no more the $3 for the bigger brush and less than $1 for the crease brush.

As I mentioned before I am out of setting spray and since we’re about to move I didn’t want to order my holy grail -Skindanavia- and risk not getting it on time so I searched for an alternative. In the past I used the e.l.f setting spray and wasn’t a fan so I was scared to go cheap again. But Walgreens had a bogo sale going on so I said to myself, “why not?!?”. . . Or maybe my husband did since he pointed it out LOL!! I went ahead and purchased the Photo Focus Setting spray.

Lights, camera, action! This exclusive formula extends makeup wear by preventing cracking, smudging, fading, or creasing. Works with any makeup and all skin types, plus it has aloe to hydrate your skin. One step, perfect! – from the wet n wild website

I am 5hrs into wearing it and so far its good. I’m still pretty matte. No oil has broken through and my makeup is still pretty set. It has been a bit cooler today so the real test will be a hot Florida day. My first impression? Good, it has no funky odor and its holding up good. IpsyMarch bag

Verdict for the weekend?? It was a good one, haha. Despite Ipsy getting to my house late I came up on these gorgeous brushes. I cannot wait to get the rest of the collection.

Anyone else try them? How about other Temptu products??

(If you’re interested in Ipsy I have a previous post explaining how it works!)

I hope this post was helpful to anyone considering Ipsy!!  Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoy seeing what we all get in our Ipsy bags.

IMG_1706If you are on social media at all you’ve noticed pinks, coppers, peach, and anything along those lines is IN for spring. Its been raining and warm here in Florida so it feels a lot like spring. YAY!  Originally I had asked my 3yr old how I should do my makeup and she suggested a character from “Ever After High” a cartoon. I was all up for it until I went to get my palettes and sitting there all alone was this beautiful single shadow from Colourpop in Sequin. I purchased this and 4 other colors a while back but since I don’t go out much (no babysitter) I have always felt like they’re too vibrant and sparkly for every day use.

BUT today I kicked caution to the wind and I did it. Sequin is such a beautiful color with beautiful undertones.

Sequin

A copper penny like shade with silver and gold glitter. Find a boy, pick him up, all day long you’ll get good….. -from their website

I had to share that because that is truly the only way to describe it. It is part of their metallic collection. It makes an amazing lid shade. The consistency of these shadows is a bit tricky because it feels like a mousse but it’s so soft like a powder. One of the things I learned the hard way was to get the full pay out of the color it is best applied with the fingertip. I tried using it with a synthetic brush and it was good just seemed kind of sloppy because it does have glitter. ColourpopSequin

Originally when starting this post I was going to be lazy and not use my camera to photograph the shadow but I had to do it proper justice. My phone just wasn’t picking up the color how I wanted it. Colourpop is very inexpensive (these single pots cost only $5), they are made in the USA, and they don’t test on animals (hashtag WINNING!!). I have never had any issues with them and I genuinely enjoy them so much. They are such pretty colors!

IMG_1707

I had such a hard time trying to get my phone to pick up the color but it wouldn’t.

PriscillaI tried so many times. I even went outside in the rain but I truly feel like my silly phone didn’t capture it. Or maybe I messed up in the process of application when I used my Tartelette in bloom palette and used a “similar” shade as a base.

Anyone else obsessing over spring?? How about over Colourpop shadows??

Small Milestones. . . One step at a time!

I told myself I wasn’t going to do one of these because in reality it’s no big deal BUT to me it is! BeautyDreaming has had 200+ views and I am beyond stoked!

As a person who has always loved makeup and beauty products I’ve gravitated towards it more and more as time goes by. With it has come a certain “hate” that gets under my skin. I started noticing that the more I posted on my social media about looks or products I purchased the more memes talking about “natural beauty”, “your face isn’t a coloring book”, and my favorite (not!!) “I have trust issues because women wear makeup” started popping up on my feed! I’m not saying they were directed at me personally but I did feel offended by it. This is something I genuinely love! To me makeup is art, it’s expression, and believe it or not for some people it’s a boost of confidence.

So, I needed an outlet. Very few of my friends if not, only a handful, share this passion and talking to just them about makeup 24/7 can become repetitive. So I seeked a way to communicate with other makeup lovers and share our thoughts and love for makeup in a judge free zone. This is what I am trying to achieve with my blog. A little piece of space dedicated to talking makeup, makeup tips, brands, anything and everything!

I also noticed people wanted advice but never really asked. Since posting my weekly blogs I’ve noticed people actually asks questions and I all want and hope is to help someone out there. Maybe like me you’re just a stay at home mom and can’t spend pretty pennies on everything that is constantly releasing and that’s what I’m here for. To tell you the truth of “is it worth it!” Or maybe you’re not as obsessive as me so you don’t really know what product really works. Unlike someone at a makeup store I don’t make money off of my opinion (lucky those of you that do! Lol) so I am giving you a 100% raw review.

So thank you to everyone who reads my ramblings, who shares this love with me, and who is kind enough to share their opinion with me when I don’t know!

Thank you to my husband for believing in me and providing the tools to bring these posts to life. Thanks to my best friend for all her advice, knowledge, and support. Thanks to my mother in law for taking the time to read all my posts.

May we all keep blogging in peace, blend our eyeshadows until our hands fall off, and may we all be f.  .  . Fabulous!! 💋

🍾🍾🍾 cheers to many more posts. Many more views. And much much much more makeup!!🍾🍾🍾

Thanks for reading. I am eternally grateful 👽

Color Correcting

If like me you have acne, dark circles, or suffer from rosacea then you probably already color correct. It may seem like its something new and trendy but for some of us its a necessity and something thats been around.

If you’ve taken an art class then you must remember the color wheel. Well colors directly across from each other help cancel out the other. For instance Green is directly across from Red therefore canceling it out.

Now a days theres a primer, concealer (like a tube), or a concealer palette to help with any problem areas. If you tend to get a little red all over the face then something as simple as a green tinted primer will help. Or if like me you get those huge inflamed pimples than a green concealer will work better because it will be a bit thicker proving more coverage. Remember concealer is build-able and can go from sheer to full coverage easily.

Sonia Kashuk Concealer

For me this Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer quad in 08 Medium is all I’ve been using. It has a light shade, darker shade, the green shade, and a powder.

This concealer works to minimize the appearance of dark circles, fine lines and skin imperfections while offering an overall smooth and polished finish. Two shades of concealer make it possible to custom-blend your own shade. Rich in treatment ingredients this palette contains: Jojobal Oil, Horse Chestnut Extract and Apricot Oil for smoothing and emollient properties; Vitamins A, C & E protect with anti-oxidant and anti-aging action and the colorless powder smoothes skin and offers hydrating properties for a natural and bright finish. -from their website

Across from blue/purple/green you have orange/red/yellow. So a salmon, peach, pinkish color will help with dark under eye circles. I don’t usually have to resort to concealer for my under eyes because I try to get my full 8hrs of sleep but when my insomnia kicks in and I only sleep for a few hours this trick has been so helpful!

Rimmel

I actually learned this nifty trick from Missy Lyn on youtube. I know its a lipstick and I know its extreme but I cannot see myself spending $5+ on something I use once in a blue moon. This is Rimmel’s Lasting Finish by Kate 110 in Rossetto. So what I do is swipe a little on my ring finger and gently apply it to the under eye. Normally concealer is enough for me but there is people out there who have severe pigmentation under the eye where an actual concealer will be more beneficial. But if you partied too hard the night before and need a quick fix just dab a bit of lipstick in any of the shades I mentioned. (If you’re like me and a bit of a germaphobe then obviously you sanitize your products after cross using.)

Then there’s other colors out there like yellow, orange, white, and purple. IMG_1651

Here is how I conceal my pimple the size of Texas. (LOL) Because my skin does have acne scaring I try to use a light hand with concealer. All I did was prime, color correct, under eye concealer, and foundation.

Any methods you use to color correct problem areas??

Chocolate Bar

Ever had that one palette that no matter how many different ones you own you always run back to?? For me its the original Chocolate Bar by Too Faced. I tell myself its the scent, the packaging, but who am I kidding! This palette has all the right shades for me. From two transitional shades and two highlight shades to amazing all over lid colors. If I could have one palette for the rest of my life it would be this one. It has the perfect combination of shimmers and mattes and enough range of neutral and vibrant colors.

Too Faced never disappoints when it comes to their palettes. Their shadows blend so well, are super pigmented, and  have almost no fall out. Thats very important to me because I want my pennies to be spent on well worth items.

The Chocolate Bar experience begins as soon as you open the palette and the smell of sweet chocolate envelops you. The eye shadows are pigmented with pure, antioxidant-rich cocoa powder and includes 16 matte and shimmer shades of natural browns, delicate pinks and luscious plums. Includes our signature how-to Glamour Guide with three looks to get you started.  -from their website

Chocolate Bar2

This is my travel palette (the love is real) and has had its share of bumps. Luckily its survived every drop and the only real damage is the pan coming off. When I do someone else’s makeup I use this palette 90% of the time unless they want something more dramatic. Sometimes I wonder if I should’ve gotten the Semi Sweet palette just to have as part of the collection but I don’t “love it”.

Anyone else feel the same? Whats your go-to palette??

Makeup, motd

#Motd

I wasn’t going to do one of these posts this week because I’ve been feeling under the weather so I haven’t been wearing much makeup. That and my makeup has been doing this funky thing where it looks cakey/bumpy. I’m not sure whats causing it but I’m almost positive it’s that I ran out of my Skindanavia setting spray.

But since I haven’t been wearing much makeup when I do I’ve been doing a much more soft look. I totally copied this from my bff. She posted a picture with no eyeliner on and I was in love. I always draw inspiration from the best and she never disappoints.💖 I do everything the same just skip the wing liner. img_1509-1

I’ve also been doing a nude lip. I have very pigmented lips so for me this a nude lol. This is Maybelline’s 920 Nudy Lust.

Image

In this pic I went with a glossy lip. The whole “liquid lipsticks” and mattes fad is getting a bit old. (lol) Just my opinion don’t judge me!! In this picture I used Satin sheets from the Bon Bon palette as a cheekbone and nose highlighter. The golden undertones go so well with my complexion. It feels like such a fresh look and totally different without a wing.

So I have to ask any drugstore setting spray I should get my hands on??

Here to Stay!

Laura Mercier

I never gave much thought to wrinkles and face creases until I became serious about makeup. I was doing fine with my banana powder from a contour kit I have. But, the more makeup I started wearing the more pronounce the crease under my eye became. My best friend assured me it wasn’t so bad (she’s my personal guru and go-to for advice!)but it still bothered me so much.

So I started doing research and research. Until one day my husband gave me that nudge and told me to “just buy it!!’. So I did! I was a bit hesitant because Nicole Guerriero claimed the translucent powder is ‘a bit drying’. Of course, I kept watching different videos of people who claimed to have the same type of skin as me. Also read some of the reviews on the Sephora website and I am so glad I did.  Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder is amazing.

Laura Mercier2

An extremely lightweight, sheer and silky setting powder that contains the finest French “cashmere” talc and a unique light-reflecting ingredient that creates a “soft-focus” appearance for fine lines and imperfections. The oil-free powder sets makeup to prolong wear leaving a natural look without appearing cakey or powdery.
Non-comedogenic -from their website .

It is another item that is worth every  pretty shiny penny! I am not big on baking, if I’m honest it intimidates me, but a quick sweep of it and BAM! Crease be gone! Now, when I say that don’t think it completely got rid of it. Its just how my under eye is. What I do mean is since wearing it I’ve noticed my makeup doesn’t cake up in there. I thought it was the concealer I was using so I started hoarding concealers in hopes of finding one that would solve the problem. Then the makeup gods brought me closer to Laura Mercier. I recently ran out of setting spray and its starting to warm up in Florida so I freaked! Then I remembered a friend mentioned it can be used for an all over setting powder. I gave it a shot and. . . I AM HIGHLY IMPRESSED. It did the job, lasted 8+hrs, and kept my makeup looking good. I swear by Skindanavia and Urban Decay’s De slick and the powder held up as good as if I would’ve sprits myself with either of those!

The brushed photographed with the powder is just an elf blush brush. But it can be applied with a beauty blender or makeup sponge as well. I haven’t noticed a difference. Anyone know if there is??

I definitely recommend it because its for sure going to stay as part of my collection!

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!!
